Sc430 Roof Will Not Open

It seems tho it s going to open but gets stuck.

This appears to be a fairly common problem but my searches so far have not revealed anything concrete to troubleshoot and resolve. When i press the button it only opens the rear trunk and could hear the roof motor unlocking functioning but will not open. We then noticed that the roof open button was showing red as though the roof hadn t completed closing although the roof was up. Fuel door works fine.

Today when closing the roof on a 2006 sc430 we noticed that despite holding down the roof button the front windows did not close after the roof had closed they did however close with the switches on the door.
